About the Exemption of Import Duties on Moving Goods
IMPORT PERSONAL EFFECT
The documents required are as follows:
1. Indonesian citizen
- Original passport (During the pandemic, Customs allows to use color copies or scans for customs clearance processes).
- Transfer Certificate from the Embassy in the country of origin
- Original Packing List with stamped by the Embassy in the country of origin
- Original BL (for sea) or original AWB (for air) or surrender copy or Telex Release
- Withdrawal Decree or Assignment Decree (if Diplomat or government employee) or
- Employment Certificate from the company in the country of origin
- Diploma or transcript if student status
- Power of attorney for collect document at shipping line or airline
- Power of Attorney for customs clearance process at Customs duty
- Airline ticket or boarding pass when returning to Indonesia
2. Foreigner (outside Embassy and Government staff)
- Original passport with 12 months visa (During the pandemic, Customs allows to use color copies or scans for customs clearance processes).
- KITAS (Stay Permit) validity period must be 1 year (12 months)
- Original packing list
- Original BL (for sea) or original AWB (for air) original or surrendered copy or Telex Release
- Power of attorney for collect document at shipping line or airline
- Power of Attorney for customs clearance process at Customs duty
- Airline ticket or boarding pass when returning to Indonesia
3. Foreigner (Embassy)
- PP 8 (Government Regulation No. 8) from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Please inform the agent or client that the process to get PP 8 usually takes ± 14 working days and must attach the original packing list and original BL/AWB so that the cargo must be arranged in such a way that the delivery does not cause demurrage or large warehouse costs.

- Original BL (for via sea) or original AWB (for via air) original or surrendered copy or Telex Release
- Photocopy of the front of the passport
- Airline ticket or boarding pass
- Statement of not working for other agencies
- Power of attorney for collect document at shipping line or airline
- Power of Attorney for customs clearance process at Customs duty
- ID Card who signed the document
4. Foreigners (Government, such as: UNCEF, UNDP, World Bank)PP 19
- PP 19 (Government Regulation No. 19) Please inform the agent or client that the process to get PP 19 usually takes ± 14 working days and must attach the original packing list and original BL/AWB so that the cargo must be arranged in such a way that the delivery does not cause demurrage or large warehouse costs.

- Photocopy of the front of the passport
- Airline ticket or boarding pass
- Statement of not working for other agencies
- Power of attorney for collect document at shipping line or airline
- Power of Attorney for customs clearance process at Customs

EXPORT PERSONAL EFFECT
1. Foreigner :
- Photocopy of the front page of the passport
- Original packing list
- Photocopy of EPO (in passport), which is a statement of submission of documents to the Immigration office or must attach a Certificate of Reporting REP/MERP (if the shipper is still working in Indonesia)
- Photocopy of IMTA (Issuance of Expatriate Employment Permit)
- Photocopy of KITAS (Certificate of temporary residence permit)
- Photocopy of Visa from the destination country (if the shipper does not return to his country)
- Certificate from the sponsor (the company that hired him) that his tenure has ended and he will leave the Indonesian customs area with his personal belongings.
- Power of Attorney for customs clearance process
- Not bringing antiques of historical value
- Airline ticket to destination country
2. Indonesian Citizens:
- Photocopy of the front page of the passport
- ID Card and Family Card
- Original packing list
- Copy of Visa from destination country
- Transfer certificate/transfer/acceptance letter from company (sponsor in destination country)
- Power of Attorney for customs clearance process
- Not bringing antiques of historical value
- Airline ticket to destination country
The example of household goods in general are household, kitchenware, books, piano, organ and other music instrument, sporting equipment, TV, radio, video, CD/LD/CD/DVD player, personal computer (PC), air conditioner (ac) and other goods usually owned by a household.
