MAKASSAR - PT Pelindo (Persero) noted that the performance of the Ambon Container Terminal (TPK) continues to improve after carrying out restructuring since 2019. TPK Ambon's Yard Occupancy Ratio can now reach around 40%.
TPK Ambon Terminal Head Rouland Prakarsa Koswara said that from 2019 to 2022 container throughput at TPK Ambon has increased.
From 95,567 Teus in 2019, it increased to 100,379 Teus in 2020. Then in 2021, it increased again to 108,682 Teus and in 2022 it was recorded at 108,999 Teus.
"Meanwhile, until the third quarter of 2023, the number of container throughput at TPK Ambon was already at 75,793 TEUs," he explained, Sunday (29/10/2023).
Currently, he continued, the Container Yard (CY) or TPK Ambon stacking yard has an area of 66,053 square meters, with a pier length of 334 meters.
Rouland said that in order to optimize service and efficiency, his party has invested in the procurement of one side loader unit so that the stacking tiers of containers, especially empty containers, can be increased to seven tiers, and will then implement the electrification of two QCC units for efficiency and optimization of unloading activities. load.
With the transformation, currently TPK Ambon's Yard Occupancy Ratio has reached around 40%, this is due to the systemized container management and still has a container capacity of up to 300,000 TEUs.
Pelindo Regional 4 HR and General Services Division Head Basri Alam said that since the merger on October 1 2021, four subsidiaries were formed that focus on managing four types of Pelindo businesses.
"Namely, Subholding Pelindo Multi Terminal (SPMT) has its head office in Medan, Subholding Pelindo Solusi Logistik (SPSL) has its head office in Jakarta, Subholding Pelindo Terminal Petikemas (SPTP) has its head office in Surabaya, and Subholding Pelindo Maritime Services (SPJM) has its head office in Makassar ," he said.
Gradually, Basri continued, these four Pelindo subsidiaries are available at every port managed by Pelindo, especially in Region 4, including the Ambon Container Terminal which is now under SPTP management.
"It is hoped that through management that focuses on each type of business, Pelindo's performance in the future will be even better," said Basri.
