IMPORT PERSONAL EFFECTS (MOVING GOODS)

 The required documents are as follows: 

1. CITIZEN
   • Original passport
     • During the pandemic, Customs allows colour copies or scans to be used for customs clearance.
   • Transfer Certificate from the Indonesian Embassy in the country of origin
   • Original Packing List that has been stamped by the Indonesian Embassy in the country of origin
   • Original BL (for via sea) or original AWB (for via air) original or surrendered copy or Telex Release
   • Withdrawal Decree or Assignment Decree (if Diplomat or government employee) or
   • Certificate of Employment from the company in the country of origin
   • Diploma or transcript if student status
   • Power of Attorney for document retrieval at sea
   • Power of Attorney for customs clearance process in Customs
   • Flight ticket or boarding pass when returning to Indonesia

1. Foreigners (excluding Embassy and Government staff)
   • Original passport with 12 months visa
     • During the pandemic, Customs allows colour copies or scans to be used for customs clearance.
   • KITAS (Residence Permit)à validity period must be valid for 1 year (12 months)
   • IMTA (Work Permit)à validity period must be 1 year (12 months)
   • Original Packing List
   • Original BL (for via sea) or original AWB (for via air) original or surrendered copy or Telex Release
   • Power of Attorney for document retrieval at sea
   • Power of Attorney for customs clearance process in Customs
   • Flight ticket or boarding pass when returning to Indonesia

1. Foreigners (Embassy)
   • PP 8 (Government Regulation No. 8) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
     • Please inform the agent or client that the process to obtain PP 8 usually takes ± 14 working days and must attach the original packing list and original BL/AWB so that the cargo must be arranged in such a way that the shipment does not cause demurrage or large warehouse costs.
   • Original packing list
   • Original BL (for via sea) or original AWB (for via air) original or surrendered copy or Telex Release
   • Photocopy of passport front
   • Airline ticket or boarding pass
   • Statement of not working at another institution
   • Power of Attorney for document retrieval at sea
   • Power of Attorney for customs clearance process in Customs
   • ID card of the person who signed the above document

1. Foreigners (Government, such as: UNCEF, UNDP, World Bank and the like)
   • PP 19 (Government Regulation No. 19)
     • Please inform the agent or client that the process to obtain PP 19 usually takes ± 14 working days and must attach the original packing list and original BL/AWB so that the cargo must be arranged in such a way that the shipment does not cause demurrage or large warehouse costs.
   • Original packing list
   • Original BL (for via sea) or original AWB (for via air) original or surrendered copy or Telex Release
   • Photocopy of passport front
   • Airline ticket or boarding pass
   • Statement of not working at another institution
   • Power of Attorney for document retrieval at sea
   • Power of Attorney for customs clearance process in Customs
   • ID card of the person who signed the above document

EXPORT PERSONAL EFFECTS:

1. FOREIGNERS:
   • Photocopy of the front page of the passport
   • Original packing list
   • Copy of EPO (on the passport), which is a certificate of submission of documents to the Immigration office

or must attach a Certificate of REP/MERP Non-Return Reporting (if the shipper is still working in Indonesia).

• Copy of IMTA
• Copy of KITAS
• Copy of Visa from destination country (if shipper does not return to his/her country)
• Certificate from the sponsor (the company that employs him) that his period of employment has ended and will be leaving the Indonesian customs area with his personal belongings.
• Power of Attorney for customs clearance process
• Declaration of not carrying antiques of historical value
• Airfare to destination country

1. CITIZEN:
   • Photocopy of the front page of the passport
   • E-KTP and Family Card
   • Original packing list
   • Copy of Visa from destination country
   • Moving certificate / mutation letter / acceptance from the company (sponsor in the destination country)
   • Power of Attorney for customs clearance process
   • Declaration of not carrying antiques of historical value
   • Plane ticket to the country you are moving to

Attention:

1. The duration, be it arrival or departure, between a shipper and its cargo should not exceed 3 months.
2. For imports, if the consignee is a housewife, the shipment will not be exempted from import duties.
3. For export, if the shipper is a housewife, she must attach a marriage certificate and other documents belonging to her husband.
4. For now, if the documents are not complete, it will not be possible to process the release of goods or process customs clearance. Even if you can, you have to check with the Checking Officer at Customs whether you are willing to accept "coordination money".

Another thing to note is the format in the BL or AWB. For personal effects shipment, the name of the shipper/consignee must match the name written in the passport. And here is the description:
